  1. The furminator looks like something I should have for my 20 lb Shih Tzu. I am constantly cleaning up hair from the furniture and floor, it seems to go everywhere throughout the house. Hoping this will be a good solution.
By the way, how long do the blades last and where can I get new ones? Thanks for the information.

    • I’m sure you will be very happy with the results if you try the FURminator! The blades should last for a long time if you follow the manufacturer’s care instructions. Unfortunately, replacement blades are not available at this time.

  3. Great article, I’ve found it very interesting!
I have two long hair dogs, and both of them are shedding throughout the year. They live in the house, and I always find hairs all over the place, which is really annoying. I bought so many brushes and unfortunately, they broke up after using them for a while. The one you mentioned in the article “FurMinator” look of a strong quality and very practical to use.
I will definitely try this brush on my dogs!
Thank you for this excellent post!

    • Hi Daniella, you will be happy with the FURminator to keep the shedding down. Also, they are very high quality and I have never heard of one breaking.

  4. I did not realize that there are so many choices for removing unwanted dog hair. I have 3 long haired dogs and brushing them in spring when they begin to shed is a lot of work. Looking at your suggestions, these may be the tools that I need to make spring/summer dog hair shed time a little more bearable.

Thank for an informative site. I will be checking back to learn more tricks.
